Clover

Clover tasting Hay

I snapped a few photos of Clover on Saturday when I went out to get photos of the new cow. Clover is still cute, and was nibbling on the hay for a little bit. She doesn't really eat much yet, still to young to enjoy it, but it's cute that she is tasting it now.

Clover with Daisy

I think she wonders what her "Mom's" see in the stuff though...it's just not near as good as that wonderful milk she gets to drink. LOL

Clover

She finally lay down next to the hay and just looked cold. Poor baby, bet she will LOVE it when Spring gets here. DH said he saw all three Jerseys covering her with hay yesterday morning. I think this is going to be one spoiled calf....with all the "Mom's" she seems to have. The three cows and DH and I are "Mom" to her I think, we give her love and attention and food. LOL

I don't know that she is eating off Honey (yet anyway), but when Daisy lets her, I think Honey is giving her attention...and mothering her if burying her with hay is any indication. It's so neat that the cows know to cover them with hay to keep them warm (Mable did it more than once the first day she was born)...instinct is a wonderful thing. :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I better run, got a bunch to do today. :)

  1. I didn't know that cows would "cover" their babies like that. That's pretty cool!

    Great pictures! :)
