A trip to Missouri

LPN Graduation

We went to my parents for the weekend, my niece was graduating from college (although she still has a couple months left before she is out of LPN school, they made the nurses graduate with the rest of the school for some stupid reason...seems silly when they could still flunk out! LOL)

It was good to see my family, and when I wasn't kicking myself (which I did all weekend) I enjoyed myself.

I take my camera almost everywhere I go, even if it's just into town...yet somehow, it got left at home this trip, so I had to use one of my Dad's, or DH's camera. *sigh* I was NOT a happy camper, when I discovered I'd left mine at home. While the point and shoots take nice photos, they just don't compare to my DSLR...or maybe I'm just a photo snob, I don't know. *giggle*

If you could zoom into the full size photos and see them close up, you could see they aren't near as nice...some of them don't even need zoomed into to see this. I also rediscovered the most annoying thing about point and shoot cameras...that darn lag, that makes you miss the photos you WANTED to take. *sigh* Maybe that will teach me to make SURE I don't leave MY precious camera at home next time.

One thing about it is, it DID reinforce my THANKFULLNESS that I've been bless with a DSLR!! :-))

Anyway, I was so glad we could see her graduate, even if she hasn't REALLY graduated yet. It was good to see her, we don't get to near often enough, but with animals it's hard to get away for more than a few hours, and it's to far to go for to many "day" trips. I love our animals though so guess that's the way it goes.

We put off weaning Clover, so she could "milk" for us, while we were gone...she isn't a happy camper now though, cause this morning she was put into the pasture with the goats, and she is separated from her Mommies...course the mommies aren't real happy either. LOL

Beautiful Country

This photo is one I took with DH's camera Sunday morning. It was early, and the sun was up, but it was still pink out...this old building has stood empty here for years, but it always makes for a neat photo, especially a sunrise photo. :)

I'll try to share a few other photos I took at my parents sometime this week...I got some pretty ones, even though I had to use DH's camera to get them. LOL His does have a few redeeming qualities, that I wish mine had...mostly being able to take a wider shot of landscapes. I never have the right lens on mine for that, so usually don't get the "wide" shots I'd like to now and then. One of these days I'll be able to get the lens I want, so I don't have to worry about having the wrong one on. :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend...and a wonderful Mothers Day! I got to see my Mom on Mothers Day for a change, something that hasn't happened for a while. I also got to give her, her card and small gift early, like I used to do, before she had a chance to get out of bed. It was nice to revisit that little tradition I had when I was growing up, it's been far to long since I was able to.

Ok, gotta run now, have a lot to do today, and this isn't getting it done. LOL I'm looking forward to later in the week, when it's suppose to be cooler again, the next couple of days it's suppose to be in the 90's, which is way to HOT for us. Have a great week! :)

  1. I would have been upset too, if I had forgotten my Rebel! You're right, the others just don't look quite as good!!!!! ... Glad you got some pictures though, because none at all would have been much worse!
