Beautiful Week

Bringing in the Cows.

It's been a beautiful week here in Nebraska. The temperatures haven't been so hot, in fact we've actually been able to turn the air off and open the windows the last half of it. I love having the windows open and enjoying the breezes and sounds of the country.

My Dad caught this photo early one morning as he brought the cows in to be milked. I loved the lighting in it, and seeing the cows with the beautiful countryside in the background.

DH hasn't been having quite as bad of night sweats the past couple nights, but we had to go back to Omaha for some tests, to see why he was having them on Wed...they gave him some antibiotics, because they said the markers in his blood were showing an infection. I'm not real fond of to many antibiotics, but after a surgery like he had there is not much choice. Hopefully he's on the road to getting over it now.

I've been REALLY tired the past few days. Not sure if everything is catching up with me, or if I've been fighting off a cold or what (don't usually get one in the summer...but I froze in the hospital so wouldn't have been surprised if I ended up with one). I almost never take naps, and yet I haven't wanted to do anything else when I take a break. Unfortunately something has prevented me from a very long one every time I've managed to try, but least the short ones I got have helped a little. *sigh* Maybe one of these days I'll catch up on my sleep...but hopefully till then I'll survive without it.

Needless to say, I've not really had much time to grab my own camera and play (sometime before the end of summer I'd sure really like to go looking for butterflies)...especially since my down time has been spent fighting sleep...so I thought I'd share another of my Dad's photos today...after all they are of our farm, so I thought maybe that would count for something. *giggle* I haven't gotten more beets done yet, cause I was planning on doing some on Wed, but since the unexpected trip for more tests came up that didn't happen, and it was raining this morning (yippee....we finally got a good rain for our garden!!) so I couldn't get out and get some picked, so we will try again next week. I'm not to worried now, cause I already have more canned than I got last year, so if that's all I end up with...I won't be to unhappy.

Anyway, just wanted to give a quick update...or umm ramble. Nothing major going on here, just keeping busy with one thing or another. Hope everyone has a great weekend!! :)

  1. Hope your DH's recovery is going well.

Love the picture. The first thing I thought of was the saying, "... 'til the cows come home." *lol*
