Computer trouble

Well Monday morning (really early, basically to me still the middle of the night!!) my computer died. I have had no trouble with it mostly, not big trouble and no indication that the hard drive was failing but it did. My husband was on it sometime between 3:30 and 5:00 in the morning (I guess he couldn't sleep) and did some bills on it (as that is the computer we do that kind of thing on) and checked e-mail and then turned it off. A little later he found he needed to print something off that he couldn't find so he went back and turned it on and said it took 20 min. to even have anything show up on it. I woke up at 4 something and went looking for him to ask him if he was ever going to come back to bed (because 4 or 5 am to me is still bed time!!) and found him in front of my dead computer. I made him move and I sat down to try to fix it. Well it didn't take me long to figure out something was probably really wrong cause after a little bit I got a black screen that said Warning(which was flashing) back up your data, hard drive failure is imminent. Well that can't be good. But how do you back up your hard drive if you can't get into windows? It is still under warranty so I called the experts up. It didn't take them long to figure out that gee the Hard Drive needs replaced. So they ordered one and maybe in a couple of weeks I will have a working computer. I am using my husbands now, but I like my office (cleaner!!) much better. It isn't as cluttered. I have a much smaller desk but I think I have more desk space showing than he does!! Oh well it is his office. I promised I wouldn't nag him (at least would try not to) to much when we moved to our farm house and had separate offices. I have mentioned a few times he needs to clean his office (course I know he really hasn't had much time to) but I have really tried to bit my tongue. That is one of the biggest reasons I liked the idea of separate offices!!!!! I liked before, how we had it set up so we could look over at the others computer screen and talk about stuff but couldn't stand the stacks of papers and junk!! So now we are back to sharing a computer. It works ok if I close my eyes to the rest of the room!! Anyway I can't wait till my computer gets fixed!! I hope to find the time to keep working on our web pages but have had to set his computer up some for me and backed up some things he hadn't (in case something happened to his!!) but now maybe in the next couple of days I can get back to looking for links!! Hopefully!! Course then when my computer gets fixed I will be a while getting it back up and running with all my programs and all on it. The thing I have learned out of all this is something I knew but was really getting bad about doing it: BACK UP EVERYTHING, A LOT!!!!! So remember that if you are bad about doing that too. Thankfully I had just backed some of the things up a couple of weeks earlier. Just not all. But I didn't loose to much that can't be replaced rather easily!! I thank God for that!! A friend of my husbands says we should back up everything every Friday. That would take a lot of time but we probably should get in that habit. Anyway, I just thought I would let everyone know why I haven't been on here much this week. This week I have an excuse, may not have one next time.
