Tried something new

Well I tried something new on this layout. The photo is my extended family...including some of the foster boys my Grandparents had. It was taken at my Grandmothers funeral. Now for the "new" thing I tried! LOL I read Misty Cato's blog post this morning and she was talking about a layout she did, where she messed with the drop shadows and made her pictures look like they were curled some at the corners. She gave a link to another blog that had a tut on it, (for photo shop, not psp, but that didn't stop me! LOL) so the light bulb came on, on how to do it, and I tried it myself (only I did the middle of the photo not the corners). Its not as fast and easy (or as good looking) as an action like the ones Lara Payton has on her site but I can do it in my program, without taking it back and forth...and besides I always have to try something new in my program at least once!!!!! LOL I even extended the drop shadow out on the heart shaped mat that I used, to try to go with the wrinkles of the heart. What do you think?

I have never been real comfortable with the warp mesh tool, and didn't know all that much about it, but I learned more today, and have to say even though it took me forever to do this layout, with learning more about how to do the shadow, it was really fun! I am more comfortable with the warp mesh tool now too!!!

I also wrote out directions today on how to use the layered templates in PSP, for Shawn at J3 Designs. I don't use the templates to much, but knew enough about them to manage to write some simple instructions. There are some free templates in her gallery if you would like them, you just have to be signed in to get them.

Other than that, I haven't done anything on the computer. I had some other things that I had to do, around the house. I was hoping to have time to look at tutorials and make a list of elements I want to make for the kit I am working on, but didn't get to it. I don't know if I will manage it this evening or not. Making Layouts is still my first priority so the kit will wait. Maybe I can play a little this weekend.

I hope that it actually manages to warm up like they say! LOL It did get up to the the freezing mark today and I didn't think it could make it, when I first got up. Maybe some of this snow will melt. Have a great weekend!!
