I've had way to much fun today!
Yep, even with a headache, and still being tired (we had a bad night last night, with DH sick and all) I did a two page layout with Blushbutters newest kit, and just had a ball. Mom sent me the photo of her Great Aunts, and her grandmother and then she also e-mailed me some stories she remembered about each of them. So this is what I did with it. The Journaling, is almost word for word, like my Mom e-mailed me. I really LOVE how this one turned out...hows that for a change! LOL I love these colors together, and Mom said the colors and the lace were perfect for them. Oh and the little round box in the lower left hand corner, is the one that Mom liked to play with at her grandmothers, she tells a little about it, in the journaling.
Ok, I decided to edit my post and put the single pages in here too, just so you can see them a little bigger....but I left the book in because I just love how they look together!!

Journaling on 2nd page (1st page is basically just names and dates:
Kathy’s memories of the Hoath Sisters
Told by Kathleen (Heiser) Tucker
Aunt Marian's (top left picture) husband died, maybe in World War two, I'm not sure. They had one child, a boy, who was an airline pilot. Aunt Marian never remarried. As long back as I remember she owned a dry cleaners and did alterations for people. We got our cloths dry cleaned for free.
Aunt Josephine, (middle, left) she went by the name Babe so we always called her Aunt Babe. Her husband owned a grocery store (in Anthony KS) for years. They had one daughter. The daughter had a daughter and an adopted son. The daughter was older than I was a little and had a lot of nice cloths. When she outgrew them I got a lot of them.
Grandma (Elma, bottom left) had 3 children. We always loved going over to their house. I always loved that blue glass box with the stars on it. It was in the middle bedroom on an old desk. Aunt Betty said I would climb up on a chair and open the box and play with the change Grandma kept in it. Lots of nice memories of Grandma.
Aunt Stella (top, right) lived in California after she was married so I don't really remember her much other than visiting her and her family when we went to California in November before I was 12. I just remember stopping there but really nothing much about the visit.
Aunt Addie (middle, right) was older and I don't really remember her. I'm not sure when she died, but she was in her 60's when I was born, if she was still living. I knew her daughter and knew of some of the other members of the family. She lived in Anthony Kansas or I think some of the time in the country around Anthony.
Aunt Ruth never married and was a missionary to India for years. According to some info I have she was 27 years old when she first went to India. She spent the years 1916-1955 there. Of course she would come home and spend some time there through the years. I don't know how many times, but I remember her around off and on. Her dad, Great Grandpa Hoath, died in 1922 and she had just gotten home. In those years you couldn't just fly home, across the world like that for a funeral.
When Aunt Ruth came home she would bring gifts. My daughter Debbie has an Indian doll or two. I have a night light with carved ivory that lets the light show through from her, and a silver ring, and maybe 2 or 3 other things. She also would bring some of the pretty fabric home and show us how to put it on. They called the dresses Sari's. It would even be on the women's head. I remember one time when I was in high school she came to talk to the students about India and had me dress up in a Sari for the students to see how it was done. She just put it over my cloths. After I left home, she was the administrator at the new hospital in Anthony, for a while.
Aunt Marian, Aunt Ruth, and Aunt Babe (after her husband died) lived in the old Hoath place. They would pay me to come in and dust, etc. for them, a couple times a month. The house was 2 story, had a hall with stairs going up in it. You would see it when you came in the door. They also had a big long dinning room. I think I have a picture of it somewhere. The table would open up real long. Of course they had a big family when they were young and when everyone grew up and married and came home it was even bigger.
I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
