Love this kit of Lara's

Yep, i like how todays layouts turned out lots better. Especially love the 1st one, don't you just love that red ribbon Lara put in her kit!! Its so pretty! The first one is my Mom holding my niece, when she was a baby. I have always loved these photo's, and finally got around to scrapping them. I thought the kit worked pretty good for the photo's.

The 2nd layout is my Dad, and journaling about the hat he has on. I will put it below the kit credits!

I always hated that hat!! When Dad first made it, it was floppy, and I hated it worse, but it really didn't get much better when he put the piece of metal in between two pieces of leather to make the brim stiff. Before if was all floppy, and looked horrible to my way of thinking, but it didn't really improve a lot just by making the brim stiff.

He wore that hat day in, and day out. He even wore it in the summer, and would sweat in it, till one day, during the summer (not sure of the year) everyone was tired of it smelling (leather and sweat do not mix!) so he got tired of everyone complaining about it, and thought he would try to have mom clean it, by boiling it. They had tried other things to make it better, but nothing worked. I remember Mom put it in boiling water, to soak, and Dad went outside to work. When Mom took the lid off, to take the hat out, it was deformed, the leather had pulled away from the metal, so the stitches holding it, had broken. I happened to be right there, and we looked at it, and looked at each other in gleeful dismay. Inside we were jumping for joy, I'm sure (Ok I know I was anyway) but we also knew Dad was probably not going to be to happy. As it turned out I think Dad ended up taking it better than we thought he would, and we were just glad we didn't have to have it around any more!
