Memorial layouts

I started working on these yesterday, but they didn't really start comming together till this morning. Least not so I liked them! LOL These layouts are all about my cousin and his life. I didn't really get to see him lots because he lived in Califorina while I was growing up, but I would see him now and then when he came back for visits. I just always remember enjoying the times I did see him, and thinking he and his wife were really "fun". In later years, once I got interested in family history, him and his wife were two of the people I always knew would help out if I needed any info. They sent me some info I hadn't had on my Grandparents once or twice too. These layouts will go into my heritage album. Journaling is below.

Kit Credit: Grandma's Family Tree Album kit by Tina Williams I really like this kit of Tina's! There is lots more in it that I haven't used yet. Hopefully I can get around to using more of it soon.

I hope to work on Lara Paytons new kit tomorrow if I get time to. And then of course I won't be around all that much this weekend. Hopefully I can get a few more layouts done for my parents album next week, but we will see. Things tend to come up to stop me lately. :) My niece should be visiting me at the end of the month (or first of Aug) I am soooo looking forward to that, and can't wait!! So that will slow me down on the computer, but I know Mom and Dad will understand why their album isn't totally finished! LOL Besides I think it will be years, before I can do ALL of the pictures they have of the last 40 years! I hope everyone is having a great week!!

Journaling:

Frank Eugene Tucker, Jr. was born November 25, 1916 in Deer Creek, Minnesota to Ethel and Frank Tucker. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s degree from the University of California, Berkely.

His first job after college graduation took him to Baker, Oregon. He went out first to start the job that his Dad, Frank Sr. insisted he have before he married. Norma Whiting, his fiancĂ©e followed with Ethel Tucker, his mother, to have a wedding in the Pastor William Ferguson’s home. They were married Sept 3, 1939.

Frank and Norma spent several years in Oregon and California where Frank worked as a forester for the US Forest Service. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War, and took training and attained his private pilot’s license.

Frank Tucker retired when he was 55 and they moved to Manila near the California coast in Arcata California. One of his retirement hobbies was researching family history and providing synopses of this to other interested family members.

In 2001 they moved to Missouri where they lived in Groves Retirement Center and later in an apartment in their granddaughter Teresa Boyd’s home.

Frank was an Elder in the Community of Christ church and over the years served as youth leader and even pastor. He always loved a good joke, and was known to tease anyone he thought was special, especially Norma. Frank and Norma were married for 67 years, before Frank died on July 8, 2007 in Independence Missouri. He is survived by his wife Norma, 2 children, 5 grandchildren and 7 Great grandchildren.

Frank (or Jr as I always knew him) will be missed by all of his family and friends.

Most of this info was taking from the information Gail, Frank and Norma’s Daughter, sent my Dad (Robin Tucker).

  1. This is such a wonderful ode to a family man who worked, loved his family, & fought for his country. Your page layout designs are just so beautiful with the kit of choice. Love the addition of the blue that lifts & warms the tones within your layout. Your journaling is an ode of love to these two wonderful pioneers who are the patriots of their descendents. These are memories that smile as a testimony to a life full of love, tenderness, and spiritual riches. So beautiful.

I see these heritage layouts & lament the fact that I have no photographs of my grand or great-grand parents. I do not even have a verbal history because of a fire that destroyed our family bible. So to all who are aware of their family history, be proud to preserve those memories and photos for future generations.
