Bosch Brand of water heaters stink!!

(If you want to skip my short....ummm long rant, and go straight to the end where I have a preview of a suggested frame kit for you to go look at, feel free to! LOL)

Be Careful what you wish for... even if they are just fleeting thoughts/wishes. You know those thoughts that sometimes pop into your head, where you wish something would happen? I think a couple weeks ago, I might have had that thought for a split second, just cause I was feeling down, but I really wish when I got silly and had those thoughts, that I would also include the wish that they be GOOD/FUN things that happen! No I guess that's not a gimme, you actually have to specify!

I mean, here we are, planning on getting tires for our new truck, even though I hate to spend the money, winter is coming, so we really need good ones, so we go get them. Then our poor billy dies...and now our hot water heater has gone on vacation! Of the permanent variety. So we had to get another one...so much for trying to replace our billy, that will have to wait, till a few months down the road...(or years depending on how long it takes us to recover from the new hot water heater purchase).

Our water heater was less than 5 years old! That's the worse part!! Their customer service just gives us the run around, coming up with every excuse they can think of as to why its not going to be covered under any warranty. It took my DH an hour each time he tried to call them, to get to talk with a tech person...and he had to call several times, once twice in a row, cause just as it was sending him to a real person, he got cut off!!! DH said it probably takes so long to get to talk with someone, because they are getting a LOT of calls from people having problems, since their water heater is junk.

We got the tankless kind of water heater when we moved here, cause it takes up less room (which we didn't have lots of) and gives us endless hot water....that is of course as long as its working!!! *giggle* (Hot water has been non existent around here the past couple of days.....without heating it on the stove, or in the microwave!) I have loved the fact that I didn't have to worry about running out of hot water, and also loved the fact that if we weren't needing hot water, we didn't have water in a tank, being kept warm, as that uses extra gas.

The bad thing about the tankless kind, is they are more expensive to start out with. They may save you money over the next 3-5 years....if you are lucky enough to have it last that long....but it really hurts when you have to go buy one. However since we don't have a lot of extra space, and I'm in love with all the hot water, whenever we want it, we went with a different brand of a tankless again. Hopefully this brand is better. DH did call their customer service, just to see how long it would take to get a real person, and he got right in, so that's at least a good sign....we hope!

If any of you are in the market for a tankless water heater, I would highly recommend staying away from the Bosch brand!! We had an aqua star I think, however I wouldn't buy any of theirs!! (Granted this is just our opinion...if you have one and like it, and haven't had trouble, great, hope you continue having good luck!)

Now I just have to remember that no matter how fleeting the thought is, to just NOT wish for something to happen! I'm very happy staying here on our farm, and not spending to much money...just a bit here or there in the wonderful scraping stores...so I don't need those kind of thoughts to pop into my head again! LOL

Anyway, that is why, once again, I haven't managed to scrap! This week looks like it may almost be a bust for scrappin, depending on how long it takes to hook up the new hot water heater. It will be impossible to scrap, I think, with DH working on it, cause even if I don't have to fetch and carry, he will be right outside my office, in the utility room working, which will be to distracting. We will see, miracles do happen, so if I'm lucky I'll be able to....at least by Friday. If I can't, I may loose my mind....whats left of it....cause I feel the NEED to scrap. I don't care if its an award winning layout....well yeah that would be nice, but you know how it is, that feeling that you just HAVE to create something.....anything! :)

If you are having time to scrap, you really should go check out the frame pack that Blushbutter just put out! Its wonderful, it has several frames that will take several photos, and single frames too....including some really cool glitter frames! I will be getting it as soon as I do a couple layouts for Teri, with a kit I downloaded, and should have had scrapped by now, but isn't because of all this drama that's been going on around here. I want to use the stamp sheet frames and the reel frame in Blush's frame kit the most, but love the glitter ones a lot to....and all of the others in there! So go get it here, She also has some really cool silver frames here, that I will eventually play with too....I'm hoping anyway! :)

Hopefully this is the last rant for a while! I need to focus on our blessings now, been to long on the bad things! LOL So I'm going to get to bed (its late) and let tomorrow bring whatever it brings. We are still truly blessed, as we still have each other! Who needs that extra money sitting around anyway! *giggle* Just because we had plans for it, doesn't mean the plans can't change! I thank God, we had it, even if we have to put off getting another Billy, and/or a car.

***update*** March 2012

Well, so far the new water heater has been better...and certainly lasted longer. I can't say I'm really SOLD on these kind of water heaters though...and if I had room, I think I'd go to the tank kind, when next we had to get one. The thing I don't like about this one, is there is no pilot light, so if the electricity goes off, we have NO hot water...even if it flashes we have to go turn it on again, which is a pain, especially if you happen to be IN the shower at the time *giggle*. I LOVE the concept...and maybe if we got a more expensive one, I'd be happier, but since we can't afford one of those I can't really recommend this kind, unless you don't mind having it turn off on you, if the electricity flashes.
