Playing Hooky
Well yesterday after I did the challenge things and some baking I played with Lara's new kit instead of working on my lesson's for this week. With yesterday being the first day of the month, it also started the first week of my new class...but I just wasn't in the mood to do it so I played instead! Yippee, it's about time I played with this kit!! *giggle* It's been out for several days now...actually maybe over a week, can't remember for sure, and I hadn't done more than get it downloaded! I have one from Blushbutter that's been out a little longer, and it still sits there on my hard drive too, I've GOT to get back on track and get some scrapping done, before I go crazy!! Oh that's right...its to late for that, darn! *giggle*
Anyway, these photos are from 2006...that year I STILL haven't finished scrapping. I was looking through my photos trying to decide on which ones to use and thought these would be neat...love that frame and the grass and flowers...those bears are just to cute so had to include one on the layout, although bears and goats don't REALLY go together. LOL We will pretend they do for the purposes of this layout. I had fun playing with the kit but unfortunately have to work on homework before I do more layouts...so I don't get behind. LOL

Yesterday early morning we also had more baby goats!! Bossy FINALLY had her babies, we had no idea when she was actually due, but she has been fat for months so we really expected them long before now. She had a boy and a girl, which is surprising after all the boys we have had around here, but we are really happy to have another little girl!! We like to keep the girls usually...least till we get over run with goats, that way we can build our herd...so are glad when we have girls so we can keep them. They seem to be doing well, which is a relief after the last several goats to kid, but only time will tell if they actually survive to entertain us in the barnyard with their leaping or not. DH said when he was out doing the goats this morning, the new babies (which are in the stall with the kittens) were up checking out the kittens, so they are investigating things already! That's a good sign. :) In the photo above the darker headed one is the girl. :) More photos on flicker!
Speaking of babies, here is a photo of our baby kittens and one of the Mom's. Our cats are the strangest I think, this cat had 4 kittens here in a "nest" she made in one of the goat stalls, then a few days later the other cat had her 4 in the same nest and they share their mothering duties. I guess this way one can go out and get some exercise while the other is watching them and feeding them and keeping them warm, but it's still kinda odd if you ask me! LOL Tractor Buddy even goes and curls up with them even though she has never had kittens before. We have seen all 8 kittens and three cats curled up in the nest together at the same time, it's a wonder the kittens have survived and not been smothered. LOL
Oh and if anyone is interested in a list of blogs of Digital Scrap Designers there is one here...its new so not all of the Designers have found it yet and had theirs put on it, but it's interesting to have a list to go to if we want. If you know a designer who isn't on the list, let her know about it in case she wants to have hers (or his as I think there are one or two men out there who design too) on there. Go check out some new designers, maybe you will find one you would like to follow. :)
Well I better get off here and get some things done, doubt I'll manage another LO this week since I have homework, so have a great weekend, we are suppose to get some rain and then snow, so it sounds like a good weekend to stay inside to me! LOL
Awww... the babies are all so adorable. Of course you know how much I love the baby goats, but those kittens are so sweet too. :) I miss having some baby animals around in the spring, of course it does not look much like spring around here.
ReplyDeleteLove those pages you did with Lara's newest kit. I really like that frame you used on the first one and your layering on the second one looks terrific.
I have so got to get some scrapping done, my piece of mind is slipping away. That would probably help, although I did read a chapter of a book today and it has been forever since I even picked one up. Mi vida loca...
Deb just had to comment on on sweet these 2 LOs are. Put a smile on my face yesterday to see them thank you for that. Not on the computer much these days since I got backed into finding it hard to sit for long at the computer.
ReplyDeleteI had a couple cats once who shared the mothering duties too. Isn't that funny? ... Those kittens are soooo cute, as is the baby goats! :D
