Kali's Graduation Weekend - Pt 1 The Trip
We made it back yesterday afternoon after a fun filled, full to the brim, long weekend at my parents house for Kali's Graduation. I took over 600 photos have gotten that down to 150 keepers...now I would like to see if I can get that number down even more as that's still a lot! LOL (Not ALL were of Kali and her activities...got a bunch of the beauty of northern Missouri in the late spring and also some of the farm animals of course! LOL) I always take a bunch of photos so I have a chance of a few turning out good, but I have far to many I want to keep...so this process could take me a while to get finished so I can get all the photos on flicker. I'm going to break up my telling about my weekend into parts...and will post about that part, once I get the photos for that part finished and into flicker. Hopefully that doesn't take to long, although it will probably not be finished till sometime next week at the earliest. LOL I've got to be able to do other things in between, plus will be having company for memorial day weekend too, so that will slow me down.
The trip over was fun, we talked and laughed together and had lots of fun especially when Galen would notice people going around us and laughing and pointing and/or waving because of the sign we had stuck to the stock racks at the back of the truck...and the fact that we actually had goats in the back, to go with the sign. You can see the sign better on DH's blog in this post.
Anyway, we made good time getting over to my parents house, even with stopping in St Joe at a couple of stores and adding to the stuff we were carrying. We tied the two large dog food bags to the top of the truck, and stuffed the food into the cab and managed to eat lunch on the road, with our two doxie's sharing the front seat with us. (We did spoil them with some chicken nuggets.)
We got the three adult goats unloaded first once we got there, then I snapped a photo of the dogs and kids before they got to get out and play. My parents thought that Shadow was to cute and we are lucky we managed to get away with him, cause I think they would have been happy to keep him! *giggle*
All in all it was a great trip, we had fun with Kali, and other family & friends and enjoyed the animals and beauty of North Central Missouri. Friday it did rain ALOT (over 5 inches) and there was flooding but thankfully Mom & Dad live on a hill, so it didn't affect their farm, except for the huge amount of mud that 5 inches of rain can make. LOL More on Friday in a later post!
The trip back seemed long because I was so tired from my early rising and staying up to late some nights. We stopped at a couple stores on the way back also...as well as stopping to eat lunch in St Joe but we finally made it home & got unloaded.
On the way back we had more in the front of the truck...and more in the back. We left one goat and Minqua and a chicken, but brought back a billy goat three kittens (as ours tend to get stepped on by the goats, so they are lucky to live long enough to grow up) and 4 ducks one of which was sitting on eggs. Mom & Dad have a lot of different kinds of animals over there, and when they start getting a lot of some of them, they give us some if we want them...even though some of them are my brothers (he doesn't mind). I don't want the guineas they have...unless we put them in the freezer fast, cause they are ugly to me and annoying but can live with the ugly ducks we were given. LOL We will see if my brothers peacock ever has so many babies they want to get rid of them...not sure if I want one or not, but DH does.
It's good to be home (even though I had fun), and I think the animals are glad we are too. Now if I can just get caught up on some things...but I'm starting to figure that I'll be forever behind...so I need to get used to it. That doesn't bode well for actually working on any kits, as there are several other things that need done before I spend time on that. Oh well I never meant to do lots of them anyway, so guess I can't complain.
I hope you all are having a wonderful week, Hopefully I'll get at least one more post in this week about my weekend, but we will see how it goes, and how fast I can work on the photos.
Oh yeah and my DH surprised me with a rose today after all the other stuff I got for my birthday I didn't expect that. He is way to sweet to me! Thanks so much Galen, I love you! :)
I Love You, too!
