This Morning's Gift
We had started thinking that our Kinder goats weren't going to have babies this year, which was disappointing because while they don't give as much milk as the others their milk is the BEST, so I was really wanting it for cereal and pudding especially...not that we have lots of it, but once or twice a month it's kinda nice. For the past month however we have been seeing that Sally & Annie (the Kinders) were getting fatter so figured they were going to bless us after all.
This morning DH came walking in with a new baby! Sally had a little boy (sure wish he were a girl so we could keep her!) and he has the most interesting markings. He is mostly white like his father but has brown and black on his face and a spot on his rump. The spot on his rump is brown and black too, not just one color like they usually are. I just love how unusual he looks! Now I can't wait to see how Annie's looks, although hers will probably be just brown without the black since she is brown...and Dad has brown on him.
We took him outside for a short time this morning to meet the world and catch a little sun. He met Yani & Shadow...
...who had to give the new baby a kiss, with Mom watching closely to make sure he behaved himself.
*Side Note* Shadow is growing so fast! He can't get through the fence now, but since we have let the bottle babies out with the big goats now he gets to get out and play with Yani. I think they both (Yani AND Shadow) are enjoying having someone to play with.
The new baby finally lay down in the grass with Mom standing guard for a short nap. Then Mom decided she wanted to go back into the barn so we put them both back in their stall. It's a big world out there for such a new baby.
I didn't intend to bug you all, this weekend with a post but just had to share our pretty new cutie. There are lots more photos of him and a couple of a strange sunset we had last night and some flowers (peony's & roses) on flicker if you are interested...the sunset and flowers you will have to go to the 2nd page for though cause I overdid the new baby photos. *giggle* Have a great weekend!
