Busy week so far
This is a couple of our kittens sitting in one of the windows of the barn. I thought they were kinda cute, so snapped a photo of them. :)
It's been an interesting couple of days here on this hillbilly farm of ours. Monday we decided to take a break and go visiting, and DH ended up doing a little milking, which isn't exactly taking a break since he does that here at home, but this time it was a cow that he was milking. I guess only a hillbilly would think it's taking a break to go visit someone else and end up doing some of their milking. *giggle*
He tried to get me to give it a try, since I've never milked a cow before but I'm a bit more stubborn than he is and said no thanks. I figure if I ever milk a cow, it will have to be our own cow...not that I'm real thrilled about ever milking one as they are SO much larger than goats are...and I'm not real fond of that big of an animal, but if we ever have one, and I have to I may manage. I would sure love to be able to make my own butter, so maybe I could manage to get used to them for that....and then again, maybe not, who knows. :)
Monday night DH went to a goat auction to see if they had anything we wanted, that we could afford. With the bad luck we have had this year, with loosing goats we decided we really needed to get some more, if we could find some for the right price. He lucked out and got three new nannies and a Alpine billy. (Photo of the nanny's is above, the billy is on flicker.) Hopefully they will be nice ones. Course now DH will have to work his magic and tame them down, as they aren't all real fond of us yet. I'm sure he will manage it though cause all our animals love him.
It's possible one of them is with child, least it almost looks like it, so we may be having more babies this fall!!! :) DH has a story about getting them moved to the pasture with the other goats yesterday on his blog if you are interested in it. It was an adventure to say the least! *giggle*
All in all it's not been boring around here so far this week. It has been rather warm though, and I was sure glad to get back inside yesterday to the cool air, after messing with the goats.
Wonder of wonders I FINALLY got all the books I had ordered, my Niece's book just came today (That one took way to long to get made and sent in my opinion) so I'll try to get some photos of them and do a post about them this week...but at the rate things are going, I'm not making any promises. LOL
We are having some Internet speed issues here, and so sometime someone is suppose to come out and take a look cause they can't figure out what is wrong at the office...sometimes the speed is ok others its really slow and I can't even bring up one of their speed test pages. The speed was back up late last night, but is back to being really slow now. It's hard to get lots of stuff done online that way...I just don't know how I lived with dial up when we used to have it! *giggle* Thankfully this isn't something we fight a lot around here, so I'm sure we will be back to full speed eventually. A friend in Australia has trouble with her speed all the time, so I count my blessings that we don't.
I hope everyone is having a good week. I better get off here and get some things done. Take Care!
Look at those CUTE kitties!! ... I want to go hang in your barn and play with the cats. *lol*
