Beautiful Weekend
We went for a drive this weekend. I wanted to go see the trees at Coryell Park, and see if they were changing yet. They weren't for the most part, but it was still a nice day. We stopped and got some lunch and ate it at the picnic tables there and the dogs who got to go with us enjoyed begging for some themselves. We looked around at the park then took the back roads home so we could see more of the beautiful countryside, like this grove of trees that we passed that were just starting to show fall color.
The mornings are still nippy but it warms up nicely during the day. The temps have really been great, least for us who like a little cooler temps. It frosted heavy enough to leave the grass white one morning, and I've noticed a few plants are now showing that they got frosted...yet others aren't. Winter is coming but thankfully we can enjoy the beautiful fall weather for a little longer.

I finished scrapping the photos I wanted to scrap of Grandma's funeral, which just leaves the first and last page of my 2006 book as well as the cover...so I'm almost finished!!! :) Course as you can see, they are really simple so it wasn't hard to get them done quickly. Hopefully I can finish the rest of it and get it all ready to print, so when I have the money I can get it ordered. Least that way I can move on and try to work on this years photos.
DH has been working on getting a new milking stanchion set up,(you can see the whole setup better in a video DH did of it here if you want.) it's a double one, with a slot for a goat and a different one for a cow. To milk the goats you sit where the cow would stand, and the goats are on a raised platform, or if it's a cow you have to milk, you sit with the stool on the concrete floor, and the cow is on a little bit of a raised platform, so you don't have to bend over as far to milk...which is nice cause DH has back pain and bending over isn't the easiest. Anyway I went out to see how it was going the other day so DH sat down on the goat platform to rest and talk and the cats all decided to bug him. I had to get a photo of it. All but one ended up laying on him...the black one included, but the one that isn't in this photo decided his lap was to full so left.
We got over a half inch of rain last night, course that probably isn't something the farmers really wanted since they are trying to harvest now. There is still a lot of crops in the fields around here although I did see one of the close fields yesterday being started on. Hopefully the rain doesn't slow them down to much.
Well I better get going, it's lunch time and I'm starting to get hungry. LOL Hope everyone is having a great week! :)

I like the simplicity of the LO. It is just right that way.
ReplyDeleteAll the cats are going to become pests, it looks like. LOL
Mom
Your day trip sounds heavenly! Joe and I should take the kids on something like that, before it gets too wet and cold.
ReplyDeleteLook at that lap full of cats! So cute! (Big cat fan here! *lol*)
