Blush ~n~ Dusty Layout Challenge

It's October already....how is that possible? Since it's our anniversary month I chose a theme for the Blush ~n~ Dusty yahoo group's Layout challenge that kinda goes along with Anniversarys. Well it does and it doesn't. LOL I want to know how you met your spouse/SO. There has to be some really interesting stories out there so come on and share them with us in this months challenge! :)

You can get this mini kit from Blushbutter for free (you have to use something from the kit in the layout), more info on the group.

Here is my LO for the challenge. Kit Credit: Romance Mini Kit by Blushbutter

Journaling from LO:

I was always taught that it makes life easier if you marry someone who had similar beliefs as you do, and with always being a little unusual I didn’t go for most of the local boys. So when a Lady decided to put together a single’s pen pal list at a church camp I went to, I decided to sign up. This was before the internet and e-mailing became a big thing, so we had to use snail mail.

I sent my name, address, and short description in and waited. When I got the list of guys (name and description only...she kept the address private) I looked through it and saw a couple I might like to write to, but didn’t let her know, hoping they would let her know they would like to write to me first.

Number 1 on my list was Galen, he was tall which was a plus, since I was to, and he lived in Kansas at the time which was close enough I figured we would be able to meet, if all went well.

Thankfully later that month I got my first letter from Galen that he had sent to April, the lady who started the list. She then forwarded it on to me so I could decide if I wanted to write him or not, before he got my address. Since he was #1 on my list I was happy and wrote him back telling him a little more about myself.

After writing back and forth for several weeks, (Galen was really REALLY good at writing interesting letters and sent them often) we decided to meet each other while my parents were doing a craft show at a mall in Kansas City. My Uncle drove me over there that morning, so he could meet him too, We met and my Uncle got some photos (of course) and then Galen & I walked around the mall and talked and got to know each other better. Things went so well he came over to my Grandparents for Supper ...we were married 6 months later! :)

I hope you can join us this month, I'd love to hear your story!
