Growing puppies & An old funny

Big Puppies

This puppy, is the same one he's holding here the day it was born. Nine days later it has grown a lot, so now it won't fit in one hand to well!! LOL They should be opening their eyes soon, then before we know it they will be walking and playing and being oh so much cuter. LOL There are more photos on flicker, and if you want to compare the new ones with the old ones you can tell how much bigger they are. :)

Another of my Embarrassing Moments:

Speaking of me not being graceful...we were weren't we, in the last post? LOL Ok, well it was mentioned anyway. It made me think of a time when I tripped over the threshold of a door on the way out of a restaurant.

It was several years ago, and my DH, a nephew and I were in Lincoln headed home (we lived in Polk at the time), but we wanted to get something to eat first so decided to stop at a well known restaurant that we happen to be driving by. We laughed and joked our way through the meal, and at one point DH said something about me to his nephew that had me threatening him with dire consequences..."You are SOOOO dead as soon as we get outside" which was an "idle threat" I used to make far to often. Of Course I promptly forgot about it, it's just what I do...forget things. *giggle*

However DH has a longer memory than I do, and that came back to haunt me as I walked outside and made a fool of myself.

As I said, we went on with our meal, I totally forgot DH deserved a beating for what he said, and we finished up and paid for the meal and headed out to the truck to get back on the road for home. DH and our nephew were ahead of me, and another couple was coming in the door beside the one I was walking out of, when I tripped over the threshold. This wasn't just a common "trip and recover"...this was a "trip and almost fall flat on my face" kinda trip.

With DH being right ahead of me, as I started to fall I involuntarily screeched and my arms flew out to try to grab onto DH's back to try to catch myself. Course DH, remembering my threat, and hearing me screech, kinda turned and saw my flying towards him with my hands out, so starts trying to dodge me, thinking I'm after him, not realizing that I'm just a "not so graceful" idiot who tripped. I remember seeing DH's eyes widen as I lurched toward him, before he tried to dodge me, and at the time, I thought it was with concern for me...then later I realized it was with concern for HIS OWN life. LOL Our nephew is standing off to the side watching all this, thinking the same thing Galen was, that I was carrying out my threat as I said I would; to harm him "as soon as we get outside" (although we were hardly outside yet *snicker*).

I guess he took me at my word! He was outside and the "AS SOON AS" part of the threat was all he remembered. However he should have known that I would forget it BEFORE we got outside. Besides, I wouldn't totally make a fool of myself in front of other people on purpose...and even had I not been falling, the screech and lunge with my hands out would have been making a fool of myself with others around, so there was no way it could have been anything but an accident. *giggle*

Luckily (for me AND DH) DH realized in time that I wasn't after him, so he managed to catch me so that I didn't go all the way to the ground. Lucky for me, cause I really hate falling...lucky for him cause if I had gone all the way down, because he was trying to get away from me, he would have for SURE been in the dog house!! *giggle*

I was embarrassed to say the least...it was bad enough that DH and our nephew were there to see it, but to have it happen in front of other people (at least the couple who were going into the restaurant if not others who were inside already) was just mortifying. I survived anyway, and we laughed about it all the way home cause it WAS funny...and we have remembered it several times over the years and laughed some more. *giggle*

Since we love a good laugh, and I was thinking about this one, I just had to share it...although I'm sure it is funnier to those of us who where there at the time, than you who read about it. Of course, that could have something to do with the writer. LOL

Have a great weekend!

LOL If he hadn't of caught me I would have been all the way down, there was no way I could stop myelf...being the nice graceful person that I am. *snicker*
