Keeping Busy
The last couple of days have been busy made more so by the fact that we were gone a little both days. LOL DH had to take a load of metal over to the scrap yard in a town a half hour away, so I went a long so I could do a little extra shopping. Then today DH wanted to buy me some potted flowers he saw a lady selling in town, so came home and picked me up so I could pick them out myself...he would have gotten me a different color he said, so I'm glad he wanted me to pick them out...cause the one he would have picked out was kinda pale...and I like bright. LOL If I can have a bunch, then pale is fine...but we just got a couple baskets for the front porch, so I went with red and white, since they didn't have a deep dark purple. Aren't they pretty (see above photo)? DH does know what I love, doesn't he!! And these flowers will keep giving and giving all summer....as long as I remember to water them! *giggle*
We also stopped and bought a couple cheap bird feeders, because I've really been enjoying watching birds when I can outside our windows, as I'm working in my office or the kitchen...and this way maybe it will bring some even closer. Needless to say, we have spent entirely to much money lately...especially since a lot of it was for my birthday. LOL We will be staying home for my birthday tomorrow...least I sure hope so, but next month I get the last of my birthday gift, when I get to take a soap making class...DH is taking me down into north eastern Kansas for it and I'm really looking forward to learning how to make soap with a lady who is really good at it!! :) Thankfully I don't go overboard every year for my birthday...I admit, this year I have gone a little wild...what with my laptop early in the year (for my birthday) and a cow, and all the little things I ended up with. LOL
Anyway, I've also been outside a little to see the animals, the baby goats seem to be doing well, and are so cute, especially this little girl.
We also went out this afternoon cause since it's my birthday tomorrow, I figured it was time to get a photo of me...since I hate getting my photo taken I make sure it happens once a year or it might not happen. LOL I wanted it with Daisy this time around, so I handed DH my camera, and stood with Daisy while he snapped some photos. I kept a couple of them and put them on flicker...the rest got rejected...like I said, I don't like my photos. Oh and no, I'm not putting my photo on here, if you have to see it, you can go there to see it...if I REALLY like the layout I make with it, I might share it then. *giggle*
While we were trying to come up with a half way decent photo, DH took this photo of Daisy and Tractor Buddy touching noses. I thought it was cute so had to share. LOL
It's been a really nice last couple of days...up until this evening that is. We heard that one of DH's cousin's lost her only child (son) today. He drowned while he was at a senior party at a lake...I guess he just graduated Sunday. Our hearts are heavy for them tonight and we are praying that God will be with them as they go through the grieving process. We also heard another cousin has terminal cancer...so I guess it was a bad news night all the way around. Prayers for the family members would be appreciated.
I did get the cutest Birthday card from a friend of mine in my e-mail this evening. It really brightened my evening after the bad news. Thanks so much Jenny I LOVE it!
Ok I gotta get this posted, it's late and I need to get to bed. The way this week is going I don't know if I'll manage to scrap or not...but if I do, and they turn out half way ok, I'll try to share some with you. Hope everyone stays safe out there. Thanks for the extra prayers for our family who is hurting this evening.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

ReplyDeleteI just want to tell you how sorry I am to hear of the loss of this precious young man. My heart aches for the mother and for you all. You are in my prayers.
May God bless you,

A very belated Happy Birthday to you, Hon! I'm hoping you milk celebrating as long as you can get away with it! LOL So sorry to hear about the loss in your family, as well as the sad news about another member being diagnosed with cancer. Hopefully - the situation will be early enough that their health will be restored. We'll include everyone in our prayers!
