Twin Girls, and Happy Mothers Day!
We finally had a couple girls born!! With last years babies mostly being boys and so far this year that's what we had, I've been wondering if that was all we would have, but tonight Romper had two little girls! They have more of the boar markings too, especially the one in the photo above, I love how the brown on her head goes all the way down to her shoulders. So cute! LOL Can't wait till morning so they are dry and it's light enough to see them better and get better photos of them.
It is typical that Romper would wait till it's cooler to have them, this is one of the coolest nights in May I think. It's not been real warm the last few days, and today was downright nippy outside. LOL Least there isn't a snow storm out there that she is having them in. *giggle* (Knock on wood!) I'm just hoping it doesn't actually freeze, so the apples and possibly apricots don't end up producing...I don't think it's suppose to get quite that cold, but it is suppose to get down into the upper 30's...so you never know. So strange to have nice warm, even hot temps one week, then be back down cold the next...guess that's why the date for planting a garden isn't till the end of May here. LOL
Here is the other one, she doesn't have quite as much brown on her head...although it's hard to see, with how she is facing, but she has a few brown spots on her back to make up for it.
DH had found that Romper was in labor when he came in from milking, he heard Yani bark and Romper hollering, so went back out and checked and then moved her to the barn so she was in a better birthing spot...course Romper decided she didn't like the area of the barn she was in, so went on walk about somehow and wondered out and had them by the turkey pen. LOL Least Yani was doing her job good and telling us about the impending birth, gotta love that dog. :)
We are thinking Fudge is their father for sure...although could be wrong. He must have been busy just before he jumped into the tank last December for his cold bath if he is, he died a few days after that from it. We thought maybe he would live, cause he was doing good there for a little while, but the cold was to much for him after all. Least we probably have some kids from him. :) It still could be the other male we had, but with the looks of the ears and the extra long brown on the first one I have to go with it being Fudge, cause the other one was Bunnies boy...which isn't all Boer, only 3/4, although he isn't bad looking he doesn't have quite the same ear structure. Either way I'm sure we will keep these girls, especially with all the losses we have had over the past year.
When we were out with them this evening, Shadow (who is suppose to be over in the summer pasture with the other goats all of a sudden showed up in the room with us. Romper was NOT happy, but we let him snuffle the babies for a little bit before removing him and shutting the door so he couldn't come back in. LOL Least the good thing about him being able to get out, is he can patrol the barn yard with the babies AND the summer pasture. *giggle* Course we have had a little bit of trouble with him wondering a little to far...and tried to lock him in the barn one night, but he got out several times (have no idea how)so we gave up.
Anyway, just had to share the extra good news about baby girls! I love the boys to, but the girls are best, cause then I know we can keep them if all goes well. :)
I also want to wish my wonderful Mother a Happy Mothers Day tomorrow (and all you other mothers out there)! Wish I could be there Mom, and bring you your card & hugs and kisses early in the morning before you were up, like I used to do when I was little. I hope you have a wonderful day and please remember how much you are loved!!!

Thank you, Deb.
