Its hard to say goodbye

This is Crystal the night before she died. She was sitting on my DH's lap because she wasn't feeling well. We kinda figured it wouldn't be to long, before she wouldn't be with us, and we were trying to say our goodbye's. Good-bye is hard to say, especially when you know it is pretty much the last Good-Bye. However its good to be able to say good-bye and not just suddenly have it be to late. These are the last pictures we got of her.

While our week at my parents house was clouded with knowing Crystal was fading fast, (and then her loss) we did have a good week with family. We managed to butcher the cow they had raised, and get it all in their freezer (we even brought some home with us!!). I enjoyed my time with my niece even though it was to short!

I tried to check my e-mail once or twice a day, so I could make sure it didn't get over full, but didn't take time to answer much of it. Some of it I couldn't because it was not being nice and letting me. I now have to catch up with my e-mails which will take a little while, and get things put away that we brought back with us. Some of it is already done, but I still have to unpack the suitcase, and emptly off the table. I have a ton of Laundry to do, and need to bake bread, and a few other things. So naturally I put that out of my mind so I can scrap a Crystal page. LOL But I suppose I should get off here now and get some of that done! Hopefully I can scrap more tomorrow, but we will see. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Its hard to believe that its been 13 years ago on Thanksgiving that I saw my Uncle Orison last. He went to Minnesota shortly after thanksgiving and then died up there in Jan. So much has happened in that time, but sometimes missing him, it doesn't seem like all that long ago. Thankfully time doesn't stand still, and we manage to go on, and while we still miss our loved ones, its not as sharp a pain, as it was at first. Its just hard to come to the time of year, when they left us. While I love Thanksgiving I always remember that it was the last time I saw my Uncle, who was more like a brother to me. I am however thankful for my time with him, and with all of the people and furry friends I have lost. I thank God for blessing me with a wonderful family (especially my DH!!), and devoted furry friends. I am truely Blessed!

    dapperdoxie: Thanks Fran.

Oh and the killing part, I didn't take part in, but I helped Mom with getting some of it off the bone, and cutting it up, and all, and its worth it, cause it tastes really good, and is a lot cheeper then buying it in the store! Especially for us, since we didn't have to feed it! LOL We just had to pay for gas to go help them with it.

I haven't had a chance to do more layouts, and I am not sure if I will get any done this week after all. Been busy catching up with being gone, and getting some other things done. Hopefully I will get back to the computer soon! Hope you all are having a good week!

franbvm: So sorry to hear about your little doxie!
She looks so content in the picture of her last day. Happy to hear you were able to have a happy holiday with your family.
Butcher a cow? I'm a city girl and that is hard for me to imagine....actually killing an animal to eat.
Take care and i will be back to look at your lovely lo!
