Serenity
I think I must have been looking for a little bit of Serenity today, the one afternoon I had a tiny bit of time to scrap, this week, so I chose some of the photo's I took at my parents house when we went for a visit a couple weeks ago. Its early morning, in these photo's, and a little bit misty in spots, with the lush greenness of "Home" that I remember from growing up. I wanted to get a few photos of it, to take home with me, so I went out in dew covered grass, and started snapping away, and enjoyed the Serene stillness of the morning. Its so beautiful.

I managed to get some of my apple butter canned today, and another batch into the crock pot...will can it tomorrow. DH wants some elderberry jelly, so we had to run into town to get some more jelly jars, since we don't eat lots of jelly, I didn't want to use pints, as it would have more of a chance to go bad on us. I may do 3 or 4 pints, if he wants to give his brother in Kansas some, but other than that, I'll stick to the 8 oz jelly jars for us...would do some 4 oz ones, but they didn't have any in town...I know those are small, but really, we don't use jelly all that much...usually! LOL
I use grape jelly the most, cause I like it on a sandwich if I'm in a hurry, but being strange, I like different jelly's for different things....strawberry is wonderful on biscuits...course apple butter is too, raspberry is perfect for toast....grape for sandwiches, elderberry....well I've never had elderberry, so I don't know what I'm going to prefer it on. LOL We don't have lots of bread products, so therefore don't eat a lot of jelly. I figured the apple butter would be enough...but then the elderberry's are so thick this year, and DH wanted some jelly....so I figured I'd try some. I've never made jelly myself, just watched Mom and Grandma, so it could be fun. LOL Not that I needed anything else to do right now! Oh well, being busy is good for you....isn't it? :) I would love to find some chokecherry's cause we both LOVE chokecherry jelly. My Grandma used to make it in Minnesota, and I just loved it! We don't have the trees on our place though, may have to see if we can buy a couple some day, just cause I would love to make jelly out of them once in a while. (Its wonderful on toast too!!! *giggle*)
Anyway, better go, just had to post these, since I had a little time to do them. I hope you all are having a great week! Have a good weekend too, I'm sure tomorrow will be full of apple butter and elderberry jelly, so I won't have time for more layouts. Least we shouldn't run out of something to put on bread this winter! Is anyone else busy canning? If so, what? Let me know, I would love to hear. :)
Deb~ these are SUCH gorgeous layouts!
