I LOVE this Man
This wonderful man that God gave me to, has many wonderful qualities. As you have seen the animals all LOVE him, and we all know that animals are suppose to be a good judge of character...and with so many loving him they ALL couldn't be wrong. (BTW speaking of animals...DH told me today that The new Boer billy has let him pet him now...so he is coming around to! *smile*)
But even better than him being good with animals...
...he is great with kids too. Both the young ones...
...and the older ones love to be with him...as long as he isn't always putting them to work doing something they don't want to do anyway. LOL (BTW, Jazmine was excited about learning to drive the tractor! )
He always jokes around with them and is good at getting them to joke right back. In the above photo he is on the tractor with Jazmine to make sure she remembers how to drive it, before he gets off of it and lets her do it alone. He is also pretending to bite his fingernails in fear....as she takes off. He is a clown, which is probably why most kids love him...at least those with a good sense of humor do. I tend to be more serious at times...although I've always loved a good laugh, and can even laugh at myself more now, thanks to DH.
Yesterday morning before Jazmine was up, I was working on the computer trying to get as much done on it as I could before she got up. I didn't make it done with what I wanted to before she came into my office to see what I was up to. I got up and helped her find her breakfast, and then come back to do a little more while she was eating, figuring she would come into my office and eat it like she has other mornings. However Galen was out in the kitchen getting his at the same time and they both sat at the dinning room table together to eat and talk. I listened for a little while before joining them, because I just love to hear him having a conversation with his young nieces...or nephews without me in the picture. It struck home once again, while I listened to the flow of their conversation how good he is with kids, how easy it always sounds for him to talk to them and get them to thinking about things. He should have been a teacher because he is so good at teaching them to do new things, always patient and kind, yet he can be firm if he needs to be.
I know what you are thinking now...and yes he would have been a wonderful father...but we won't go there...suffice it to say he is wonderful with his nieces and nephews...great niece's and nephews now that all the nieces and nephews have grown up. And it does my heart good to see him with them...and watch and listen to him with them, because it's just so touching. I love a man who loves kids, and is more than happy to teach them new things and watch them discover a new world.
I especially love to sit back and watch the children discover that new world with MY Man guiding them....I love being a part of our great niece's and nephew's lives, even if it's only a small part of their lives...and only a very few of our niece's and nephews. I hope that at least a few of them will have fond memories of their Great Uncle Galen & even Aunt Deb...and if we are lucky....Great Great Uncle & Aunt. Ok, now I'm really starting to feel old, when I start adding those Greats into the equation. *giggle*
Sorry for the long ramble I kinda got carried away talking about that moment the other morning, when a man and a child were at ease together just having a simple conversation. It's one of those moments you want to hold onto forever, not because it's exciting or unique, but because it tugs at your heartstrings, least it does mine. I didn't manage to get a photo of them sitting at the table together though...silly me. LOL
Still enjoying the simple things in life and hoping all of you have a great week!
I LOVE you, too! Don't know what I'd do without you!
