Our Nieces
We really enjoyed having our niece Jazmine visit us for a little over a week. I think she had fun too, and she said she would like to stay longer...and could have even...but she wanted to see her Mom. I totally understand that, because I remember when I was her age...and older...no matter how much I loved who and where I was, if my Mom wasn't there I would want to go home sooner. There is just no substitute for the comfort of your mothers arms, no matter how much you love other family members.
We didn't invite Jazmine's baby sister to stay with us for a couple reasons...one we wanted to give Jazmine a little extra special time, if possible...and another because her baby sister is only two and doesn't know us all that well so I figured she would miss her Mom...and I've been away from babies long enough I didn't know how easy it would be for me to get back into the grove of watching them, especially one in their terrible twos. *giggle* So Baby sister stayed with her Grandma instead of us...maybe next year I'll feel braver.
Jazmine really missed her sister too, not just her Mom. She couldn't wait to have her arrive, when Grandma came to pick her up, so she could give her a huge hug. She is a good big sister. I heard her tell her sister several times that she loved her after she arrived. I love this first photo of the two of them sitting together watching Tractor Buddy.
Trista, is just to cute, she has the most engaging smile, and has had since she was tiny. Sometimes it's fleeting, but it's worth any amount of trouble to capture it.
She loves our animals and Galen got some cute photos of her with Tractor Buddy that are on flicker, (I had to hand him my camera, cause she was standing right by me, and I had the wrong lens on) but I just had to share these of her and Rascal, because she made me laugh. She was playing with his ear so I leaned out to try to get a photo of her holding it up and looking into it...but missed it. However once she heard me snap the photo she turned to me...
...and informed me to stop taking photos of her butt. *giggle* I laughed and told her I wasn't, and even showed her the photo but I don't think she believed me. I just thought it was so funny that at two years old, she is worried about me taking a photo of her backside.
I couldn't get her to turn back and start playing with Rascal's ear again, since she was worried about me and the camera...so I had to be content with another cute photo of her sweet face.
Kids...they sure are entertaining. Both the two legged kind...as well as the four legged kind. (For those of you in the dark about that statement, Goat babies are called Kids.) I guess that's why I love them so much! Course I know I am easily entertained too. LOL
Well I managed to get a bunch of corn into the freezer yesterday...my Darling Hubby even helped me get it cut off the cob, so it wouldn't take up so much room. Since we do that anyway, before we eat it, so it's not so messy, I figured we may as well freeze it that way. We got the corn from our neighbor's, they got what they wanted before they went on vacation, then told us we could have the rest. With Jazmine here last week, I didn't get to it then, so had to do it yesterday. It will be yummy to have it! :)
I've also been working on a challenge mini kit using things from various Blushbutter kits, because Vanessa (Blushbutter) is busy with her new baby girl and hasn't had time to put one together. I just finished it today, I had fun playing with Blushbutter's beautiful kits and while it's not as good as she could have done I'm sure, (I KNOW she is way better at clusters than I am) hopefully it will work for August's challenge ok...which will be starting this weekend! Oh and if you want to see a photo of Vanessa's new adorable baby she posted some on her blog here. :)
I've almost got that special book finished up that I was working on...I'm a little worried about the cover being right, because it's different than I usually do so I'm not sure if it's going to be placed right, but hopefully they will let me know if it isn't going to work right, so I can redo it. After I finish that I really need to work on my 2006 book...but we will see how things go. I am hoping to do some canning of at least pickles, if the cucumbers start coming in, so that could keep me busy for a little while. It's that time of year...and if we were better gardeners I know I'd be busy, as it is I'm still hoping. We planted kinda late, so haven't gotten to much yet...except some little green onions and zucchini.
Well I gotta run, things to do...and so little time to do them in! LOL Have a great rest of the week and thanks so much for those comments of yours!! :)
Your little niece is ADORABLE! I miss when my kids were that tiny. :)
