Deer Season

Photos for my blog

The knives have been sharpened, and the cutting boards are waiting...

Ready & Waiting

The freezer is empty... (except for a couple dog bones and some jars of cream and milk in the door)

The tenderiser is chomping at the bit...

We've already gotten several calls from people saying they may have extra deer...

...so we are ready!!! Deer Season starts this weekend...and I'm ready to fill our freezer again. If we get some from everyone who has talked to us so far...we should be able to fill it...if we get more calls...we may have it coming out our ears, does anyone want any extra if we have it? *giggle*

If you don't hear from me next week, you know what we are doing...trying to stay one step ahead of the deer that people are giving us, although hopefully we won't be so busy that I won't have time to chat a little.

I'm trying to finish up some things I need done before we get to busy today...and already even though the day isn't half over yet, have to say it's going to be one of THOSE days, the kind that nothing seems to go right in...so I'm posting this now, in case it starts affecting the net and I can't do it later, although I would really expect for the day to get better...usually Friday the 13th is good to me, so I'm looking forward to a good afternoon. LOL Have a great weekend! :)

P.S. Not that I'm superstitious or anything...didn't even realize it was "Friday the 13th" till I read it on a blog this morning...and by then it had already started. *giggle*

  1. I never remember about Friday the 13th too. *lol*

Hope you get lots of venison! (I'd rather fill my freezer with beef, pork, and chicken, but that's just me. *lol*)

  2. LOL well yeah I'd rather fill it with beef myself, however we haven't been lucky enough to get that for free...so I make do with the venison, it gives us more meat to eat and helps our budget. :) I like venison...I just like beef much better. I do have to mix the ground venison with beef though...cause that I'm not real fond of.

Is that a photo of my worthless warped cutting board? Didn't take long for it to warp, did it?
That tenderizer sure is a handy thing to have around, too. I'm glad mom gave it to us.
