First Kids of the Year!!
We finally had our first two kids born for the year today! Our goats are really going to be late this year, especially since last year we had our first ones born the first part of January. These two are from one of the last two goats we bought. We were told they were with child...but didn't know how far along. The Dad must not have been Boer though, cause while Mom may not be all Boer, she at least looks like she is Boer, and these two little ones are all white, and have Wattles! LOL I've always thought Wattles were cute, but Boer's don't have them.
DH is thinking the Dad may have been a Saanen, which is a milk goat, and is wishing these two were girls...so he could try milking them when they got older. However like most of the babies we had last year, they are boys. I do hope this isn't going to be another mostly boy year for us!! We need some girls to grow up and be healthy for us, so we can get our herd back to growing. This past year has been hard on our poor goats and we lost to many of them one way or another, all part of life on the farm...but it's the part I really hate.
Anyway, I'm glad we finally have some new babies! DH went out to do the chores this morning, and then I saw him coming back carrying this little one (he usually carries one in to show me). I of course had to hold it. I put my hand on it's head and started rubbing and it arched into my hand, and then almost went to sleep. *giggle* I thought it was so cute, I've done that before, but none of them ever acted like this one did. This one Really, REALLY loved having it's head rubbed.
Spring must be here, even though it got chilly the other night (think it was down below freezing again a couple nights ago...thankfully it warms up a bit during the day.) Our Daffodil's are blooming, and have been for several days now! They always seem like a little bit of sunshine to me and I LOVE them, even though they seem to have trouble growing for me. That's probably just cause I have a black thumb instead of a green one. *giggle*
I didn't get any more scrapping done the last couple days...story of my life, I start getting back to doing it, then get stopped. LOL Hopefully I can do more next week. I better run, got a few things I want to do before bed...and I'd really like to go to bed early as I'm rather tired, and have to much to do in the morning....since this afternoon got away from me before I finished all I wanted to do. Have a great weekend! :)

Oh my goodness how sweet. Congrats on your new "kids" :) Precious!
