Beautiful Spring

I went out and visited our kids today, I haven't been out there for a little while, and wanted to see how they were doing. They are as cute as ever, and while they don't seem to ever be running and jumping a lot when I'm out there, I still enjoy watching them. This little one was really interested in a chicken that was wanting to find a way through the fence...away from all of us. I missed a really cute photo of it actually walking up to it, but what else is new. LOL


The Iris by my front porch are blooming up a storm now...least the ones on the west side, the right side has some but for some reason they don't bloom...not sure what is going on there. I do know I need to separate my iris this fall...in fact I have needed to for a year or two, but just never gotten around to it. I can't remember if the iris on the east side of my porch bloomed the first year or not, but I know they haven't for several years...so not sure if it's a needing moved thing or just not liking where they are....or what. Oh well, least I do have some pretty flowers on one side of the porch. :)

The Peony's are starting to bloom too, and I walk outside and can smell them! They smell so good, and even though they are up by DH's shop, they really spread their scent around. We were thinking it was something else down by the creak, but DH brought me a couple flowers inside today, and while I was enjoying their scent as I worked around the kitchen, I realized that's what I smelled when I walked out the door last night...so I'm thinking it was them and not something else. I would love them just for their wonderful scent alone...but they can be really pretty too. Thankfully DH loves them to, so he is willing to mow around them. :)

I do LOVE spring with all the flowers, it's so beautiful...for the eyes AND the nose!!! :)

Well better run, need to start some rice and check and see if the lotion bars I made this morning can come out of the molds. Hopefully I can make some more salve tomorrow, so we have plenty of it on hand, in case the animals need a healing salve. DH gave away the last bottle of it I had sitting here in my office, so I need to get busy on that. LOL Hope everyone is having a good week. It's been warmer here, although thankfully today isn't as hot as earlier in the week was.
