More Kids!

Adorable!

We had more baby goats born this morning!! It seems that Bunny likes having her babies this time of the year, it's not the first time she has had them out in the brush of the summer pasture. DH moved her and her babies back over to the barn for a while, so they can get a good start without the others pestering them. Course Bunny may get lonely soon, without any other adult goat to boss around. LOL

Dinner Time

Both of the babies are boys, (bout all we seem to have anymore) one has black on it, and the other has brown. They are both eating but not a lot yet, and Bunny WANTS them to! LOL

Come EAT!!

Bunny is half dairy goat, so she must have more milk than the others we have...least I've never noticed them being so insistent on pushing their kids back to try to get them to feed. This baby was laying down peacefully till Mom came up and started pawing it (she did it to the other one too, but I didn't get photos of it. LOL). I thought she was kinda rough about it too, but she was wanting them to get up and eat, and ease her pain a little. DH is going to milk her out some to help her, but I just thought it was odd how she would get them up, then push them with her nose back towards her teats...not that it seemed to be helping, as they weren't wanting much at the time. *giggle*

Poor Bunny...I'm sure it's not real comfy having to much milk for your babies. In time they will be taking lots more of it though.

Mozzarella Cheese

I got my mozzarella cheese finished up this morning. You have to put it in hot water and mess with it while it's hot, and man that's hard to do. I use rubber gloves so I can handle hotter temps, but it still was to hot. I finally managed to get the cheese pulled some (not sure it was enough....but I finally gave up LOL) and into kinda a round ball. I'm not real good at getting it into a good smooth ball yet, but least the 2nd one (the one on the right) looked a little better than the first.

This batch I used some milk that hadn't had the cream skimmed off yet, which is why it's so creamy looking instead of more white. I don't think I'll do that again (if I can help it) because I don't think it tastes as good. Guess that good Jersey cream should be saved for butter! LOL The cheese is ok, but different...and it will work fine in things, which is what I wanted it for.

I'm making PW's Lazy Chiles Rellenos for supper, but using the Mozzarella in it, instead of what she calls for...basically cause that's what I have, and I didn't want to buy any, since I can make it for free (or almost free). LOL Course I'm also using a different kind of pepper...which I roasted the other day, so we will see if it turns out any good at all. I guess I'll have to try it again if it doesn't, with the correct pepper. LOL

Anyway, better get going, haven't gotten as much done today as I had hoped to, but I am having trouble getting myself in gear as well as I did yesterday. LOL I guess the things I don't get done today, will still be there tomorrow or whenever I actually get around to doing them. Didn't manage to scrap today either...would have been nice to, since I've been on a roll.

Have a great evening! :)
