I love FREE!
Tuesday when we did a little bit of our shopping between doctor appointments, I got a free rose!! As we were leaving the store they offered me one and even let me choose my color, and naturally since I LOVE flowers, and especially roses I didn't turn them down. LOL I chose this one, because I thought the coloring was kinda neat, with the lighter color mixed with the darker. It's opening up more now, and is even prettier. I don't get flowers that often, cause I won't let DH buy them for me to often, we always have other things we need way more than flowers...but I usually admire them in the store as we walk by them, so it was nice to get a free one! That's my kinda price!! *giggle*
It's been a busy day for me here today, cheese had to be made, as well as butter...although that didn't work to well. The last time I tried to make it, it didn't work either...not sure what is going on with it.
I also figured out what jars I had left today, but when Galen stopped to buy some fresh tomatoes from a guy in town, he asked him about green tomatoes (because I've been wanting some for several years, so I can make green tomato mincemeat...something my grandma & Mom used to make) and found out that we can have all the green tomatoes we want for free...because their tomatoes aren't doing real well this year either. Guess a lot of people are having trouble with their tomatoes getting ripe around here, makes me not feel so bad about ours not doing as well as I had hoped. LOL Anyway, guess this means I'm going to can a little bit of mincemeat instead of more applesauce in those jars...and then if we have any left I can do more applesauce.
Between all that & cleaning up a little, doing laundry, grating some of my older cheese so it could go into the freezer, getting some asparagus we bought into bags for the freezer (we are in LOVE with asparagus...we hope to actually plant a bunch, but we will see if we manage to LOL), and other little things here and there, I didn't have time to touch the apples...not even to get the dehydrator going. *sigh* Hopefully I can do another batch tomorrow.
Anyway, just thought I'd share a photo of the rose I got for FREE!! I so LOVE free, when you are on a budget that farm life seems to blow a lot, it's sure nice to find free things here and there. Praise God for his bounty! Course my wonderful DH gets a big thank you too, for bringing me that wonderful box full of something I've been wanting for a while now...even if it does make me do more canning. LOL
Free Apples, a Free Rose, and Free green tomatoes...what a wonderful week...and it's not even over!! LOL
You know what Tom Peterson says... Free is a very good price! *lol*
