Feeding our new little calf

We've come up with a name for our new little Heifer. I went looking in the flower names online, since we are using flower names for our girls least so far, and saw that there was both a Guernsey Lily, AND a Jersey Lily, and since she has both Guernsey & Jersey in her I though that might fit. I told DH about that, and he said he liked that name for her, and since I haven't been able to come up with anything better...I think it's going to stick. LOL

I actually like that name too, but my best friend from High school's name is kind of hated to use it. *giggle* Oh well, it will be spelled differently...and maybe she won't find out, cause I don't get to see her or talk to her that often. Besides I'm naming her for the flower, not the friend. :-))

I did think of Jasmine, because it means "Gift from God" and that she certainly is...but one of our niece's names is Jazmine so I decided that might not be a good idea...even if we weren't naming it after her but only because it was a "flower" name. LOL

Besides, I think Lily suites her pretty eyes, and the calm mellow look she has in them so far. :-))

Now if we could just think of a name for our bull. The only thing we've come up with so far is studly or stud or....something lame like that. *snicker*

Feeding our new little calf

Lily has been slow eating, and hasn't taken much at a time since we brought her home. Today finally she did take almost a whole bottle for the first time, but it wasn't milk, it was an electrolyte solution. It does give us hope she is going to start feeling better though. We think she got a cold or something with the cold ride home, and heard the electrolytes will help perk them will give her some of that for the next few days.

Hopefully she gets better and starts running around soon! We would hate to lose our little gift from God.
