Effie Tucker 1917-2006

I did this page for my Grandmother. I used a quick page that Blushbutter sent through her friendship group (yahoo group). I thought it was PERFECT because my grandmother loved flowers, and she really loved pink. She sent two versions of this, one with the poem and one without, and I used the one without so I could change the word Daughter to Grandma....but I am having trouble figuring out the warping tool perfectly...I have used it a little, and used it to try to warp the text to make it look like it is going with the flow of the page, but it isn't working as well as Vanessa's did, on the version with the poem on it. Course she uses Photo shop, so it makes me wonder if they have a better warping tool in there! LOL Maybe I need to look around and try to find out more on Paint Shop Pro's warping tool. But I guess this will work for now! Vanessa (Blushbutter) probably just knows what she is doing more!!

With all the roses, lace, and PINK on this page, wasn't it just made for Grandma!! Thanks Vanessa!!

Poem Reads:

Roses for Grandma

If roses grow in Heaven
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Grandma's arms,
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek,
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.

I would love to have a way to share the DVD slide show that the funeral home put together of my layouts and photos to show at the visitaion. But it would be to long, and I just don't really know much about putting video's on my site. I know other people do it, so it prob could be done, if I had enough space to hold it, (which I don't)so I guess I won't even try to figure it out. I just love how they zoomed in on the pictures and all. I thought it was just going to be a slide show type thing, flipping from photo to photo, but they put music with it, and an intro with her name and years and all, and then like I said earlier, zoomed in on pictures (or out) and all. Sometime I will have to try my hand at making something like that. I am glad that my DH and Dad found out, that if we put the pictures/layouts on disk in jpeg format, that they would be able to do that, cause it was better than just having them on a board. (Although that was nice, so they could then go read them.)

I got some pictures I hope to get layouts done with soon, but I am kinda discusted that my camera picked the funeral to not take as good of pictures. When I first got my camera, I just couldn't get it to take pictures with out bluring them, unless I used my tripod, but I finally got it to work better, and then it had to act up a little at the funeral...naturally I didn't know, till after I put the pictures on the computer, so it was to late. So while some of the pictures are ok, they just arn't as good as I would like. MAJOR BUMMER!! So for all of you who my Mom will be sending a copy to, SORRY!! I can (usually) do better! Guess you will just have to come for a visit, sometime when we are over at Mom and Dad's and I can then try again!! (or come visit us in Nebraska!!!) It was really great seeing everyone!

dapperdoxie: I will have to see if I have photo shop installed (since I redid the computer) and try something....I will also pick one out later, and send it. Since I know NOTHING about photo shop! LOL They arn't as blury as they were when I first got the camera, but they just don't seem clear. Or something....not sure how to describe it.

Thanks for commenting both of you!

blushbutter (unverified): Oh Deb, thank-you for the compliments, that page does look like it was made for your Grandma and it's a beautiful page for her! She looks happy and with all those angels dancing around and roses she's certainly in a happier place I reckon. Very dreamy and loving. Now about your photos, how blurry are they? I know if you have filters in PSP like I do in PS you can copy the layer of the photo and then go to filter>other> and then highpass> set to about 5.5 and layer mode to overlay and voila, it clears up a lot of blur...
send me a pick and I'll see if I can make it work for you in photoshop
My camera does the same thing sometimes to
