I fought the pen tool...

...and I think I may have WON!!! *giggle* More on that in a little bit.

Since I got done with my homework yesterday after all, (even if I do need to spend some more time practicing) I got another couple of pages done today for Kali's book. These two are actually to go beside two other pages that I ended up not putting side by side. The first one shows Kali, her Mom, her step sister and her step father. The 2nd page shows one of her grade cards from a couple years ago (she has always gotten good grades) and a couple of other photos from that year.

Kit Credit for both layouts: Heartstrings baby boy kit, silver frame pk & creased frames ALL by Blushbutter.

Ok, about the pen tool. I've fought that thing from the moment I started learning about how to use these nice programs...both in psp and ps, I've tried to learn how to use it, and I just couldn't figure anything out. Finally yesterday I worked on the first weeks homework for the Paths class I'm taking this month, and it was teaching us to use the pen tool, to create paths. There was a lot we had to do, for practice, that I didn't know if I would manage to get it done...or would even be able to figure it out, but I did!

After doing the practice sheets and then drawing some shapes all on my own...which was amazing in itself, I decided to take a photos of one of our little goats, and trace it (since I really suck at drawing freehand). This is what I ended up with...done with the pen tool, in pscs3, by ME!! Wow huh! *giggle*

I can't believe I managed to use that darn tool that had always beat me in the past. I know the picture isn't perfect, but since I had never been able to get past the first or 2nd corner before, the fact that I drew...well traced...this with the pen tool is just amazing to me. LOL I especially love how the head turned out, (except for the white spot, I should have just done that with a brush, instead of outlining it with the pen tool...live and learn)I think it's adorable, love that rounded top of the head and the ears. LOL It gives me hope that the pen tool can be my friend too, since I was able to do this after only the first week of class!! :)

Well enough of that, sorry, just had to show you all, since I was amazed I managed to figure out how to use it enough to do that...after trying on my own for several years I didn't think it was possible, even with the class. LOL I've got some other things to do, so better get off here. Kinda doubt I'll be able to do anymore layouts this week, but we will see. It's suppose to be close to 70 F here tomorrow so hopefully I can manage to get outside a little bit. Have a good rest of the week and weekend!!
