Spoiled Rotten
I just had to show you what I had to put up with, when I was in my kitchen cooking the last few days. Just look at those poor hungry babies, looking at me over the top of their tote trying to pull me over to them with a bottle of milk in my hand. LOL I had to stop and get some photos cause they were just to cute. Can you feel the pull too?
Yesterday we finally put them out in the barn, I figured it was time when even the smallest one managed to get out of the tote at feeding time....when they decided their sad hungry eye tactics weren't working. DH told me this morning they weren't amused at having to become a full fledged goat, and stay in the barn. *giggle* I do miss cuddling them in the evening, and feeding them some...but it's nice to have them out where they belong, and the dogs back to normal. Autumn did NOT like having them in the house, she drove us crazy with her barking at every little noise. LOL
As for the spoiled rotten title...bet you thought it was for those cuties up there! *giggle* Well it's not, that title is totally mine right now. Why? Because my wonderful DH who isn't all that fond of gardening, especially when it comes to flowers has been fixing me an early birthday gift! (really early, since my birthday isn't for another month! LOL) He has planted some roses (to replace the last ones we got that died...something that happens all to often around me and my black thumb) and put rock around them, to try to cut down on grass growing up in and around them.
This photo is one he took of the flower bed with 4 climbing roses in it, he will put some chicken wire on the fence behind them for them to climb on. He also worked on the rose part of my flower bed in front of the house, added a couple to where some had died (still need to replace at least 4 more...like I said, they don't live around me very long for some reason) and added some rock to hopefully help stop the weeds and grass better. I did help a tad bit, but he did most of it, and I'm really thankful and know how lucky that makes me...and yes, how spoiled I am too! *smile*
Several years ago, just after we moved the house in, DH made me some flower beds all along the front of the house. I'm not sure why I wanted them, knowing how bad I am with plants, and how often I have to replace them if I actually want flowers in my flower beds, (usually anyway) since they just don't like me enough to live very long...but I thought it would really look nice...and it could....if I were good at keeping them up. LOL Actually at the time we put down a bunch of wood chips which helped keep the grass and weeds out, but then we had to go visit my Dad and let him talk us into bring some chickens home...which I'm very grateful for too, but that was the end of the wood chips. They went to work and scratched them all out of the flower beds...and for the last two or three years we've been hard pressed to find a bit of it left, and with that, getting discouraged over my flowers dieing...and finding other thing's I'd rather do, the flower beds have really gotten to be a mess.
So while I won't be able to use rock on the beds right around the porch, rock in the rose beds should work, and I'm hoping since we got larger rock, not small ones they would love to put in their gullet, that we can keep them in the beds, not have them scattered out into the grass in front of them...we will see how well my idea works over the next few days. *giggle*
We will have to work on the other part of the flower beds later...I need to move some iris and tulips this fall, so sometime between now and then, they need cleaned up and gotten ready too...but there is time for that later...hopefully. This is a good start, and is the perfect birthday gift, since I really hate gardening myself, but adore flowers. It's really not something he likes to do either...but it's nice to know he loves me enough to do it for my birthday! :) Course just to show you HOW spoiled I am, I'm also going to get a little program that I REALLY, REALLY need (this one) for my birthday, once some money gets moved from our bank account to paypal, DH said I could have it too...I'm so blessed!! So much for our meager savings getting much bigger in May...since the rock & my program will come out of our extra money in May. I guess this year I won't be going shopping much in the digi stores for scrapbooking day or my birthday since I spent way to much on rock and am getting the program besides, but I guess I'll live. LOL
Anyway, so sorry to bore you all with some of what's been going on around here, other than that big project, I've worked on a new kit and my classwork for this week (only one more week to go...then I'll be taking a short break, before I get totally burnt out on learning). At this rate I'm not going to get any LO's done this week, but we will see how tomorrow goes. I hope you are all having a great week!
I'll leave you all with a pretty shot my DH got of the sun this morning, I was being lazy and sleeping in, so missed the beauty myself...I did tell him he should have woke me up though. LOL
