It almost feels like a Beautiful Fall Day...

Fencing

...yet it's still the middle of the summer!! It only got to the mid to low 70's here today and we are both loving it!! We have had 2 or 3 days here that have been just beautiful out. We love the cooler weather, and while we know summer will come back, we sure are enjoying the beautiful temps while we can. I even had to have my jacket on some today...although thats not really surprising, since I get cold easy, it's odd when you think about the fact that it's the middle of August, which is usually one of our hottest months. Unfortunately summer is suppose to be back in full force by Monday. *giggle*

DH has been slowly working on some fence...one of those never ending jobs since we have so much of it to do around here. But with it cooler, it's been easier for him to do some. This photo shows him working on a corner earlier today.

I got two batchs of pickles canned this week, along with a few beets. We have to plant more next year, cause they didn't make as many jars as I was hoping they would. LOL DH planted some more, since we had the seed, but we don't know if they will grow big enough before a frost comes so I can, can some more. Only time will tell I guess. :)

All in all it's been a lovely week, and it's nice to have some more of Grandma's pickles, since I was getting low on them. I'd hate to have to buy some sweet pickles...cause things just wouldn't taste right now that I've gotten used to using the home canned lime pickles.

Have a great weekend and I hope you have been able to enjoy some nice weather where you live too. I've got to go check on supper, so better get this posted. :)

  1. We got a few days of rain last week, which was odd for us at this time of year... I'm just praying that it's hot next week, because we'll be camping and the kids want to swim in the lake. :D
