Blush ~n~ Dusty Layout Challenge

With November now here (can you believe it? LOL) it's time for a new challenge to start on the Blush ~n~ Dusty Yahoo group!! This month I thought it would be cool to see which parent everyone thinks they take after.

I did a LO with the challenge kit (although the blue paper is recolored) showing that I look like my Mom but act like my Dad...which with being a girl isn't always a good thing! My poor DH is so patient with me thankfully! *giggle* The Photos I used were taken in 2007, the one of me in July & the one of my parents on their 40th anniversary in September.

I hope you can come join us in this months challenge!! You get a free mini kit to work with from Dusty Bear!! :)

While I was doing some backups yesterday of photos, LO's and kits, I also played around with the LO I plan on using for a lot of photos in my 2009 book, and moved the little flowers over to the edges so I could make room for journaling (which I tend to want to have on some LO's) and also to have more room for a blended photo. I think I like it at the sides better...goes more with how I usually do simple LO's. LOL

This LO is the first of a two page LO, with 5 photos on each page called Feeding Frenzy. I just thought I'd show you how I changed things...after doing several the other way.

In other news, have I mentioned that I like goats better than cows? I did? Well I just thought I'd say it again! LOL

Last night, before my brother came and after I checked on supper I noticed that DH hadn't came and got the milk bucket yet...it was later than he usually milked and I guess he had forgotten it was that late, so I took the bucket out so he didn't have to come in and get it. I called Mabel as I walked to the barn swinging it, but all she did was stand and look at me. She was clear out on the other side of the creek...so DH took some grain out and tried to get her to come in. All she did was stand and look at him then back at me, so I went and sat on the front porch...that didn't work, so I walked down the driveway...and she just stood at looked at me. Finally I was hanging over the other fence, talking to the dogs and goats, and DH was with me when she started walking towards the barn.

My brother arrived while she was stopped part way there, so I finally got tired of it, went through the gate, and got behind her and she decided she better go since I was crowding her. She got ahead of us an DH hadn't blocked off the way OUT of the front of the barn...so instead of going into the milk room like she always does, she went out into the yard, and over into the pasture where we put her when we first got her. I parked myself in the path way so she couldn't get out again and DH and my brother brought her back around the barn and back in, and after seeing me she went into the milk room to eat. She is STUBBORN!! And WAY to big to manhandle like we can the goats, if they want to be that way.

I like her, and LOVE her milk, but what a pain! LOL She isn't used to both of us being out in the barn when she gets milked, so refuses to behave when I'm there. I told DH that I guess I wasn't going to be helpful again, and bring the bucket out...least not for a while, cause she still isn't real bonded with DH, so throw me into the mix and forget it. Give me goats any day if I am the one who has to handle them...but then again, I'd sure miss that butter! LOL

Oh well I guess it takes getting used to for more than just Mabel. Hopefully eventually I'll become more of a cow person too. LOL She has never been THAT stubborn before, so guess she just doesn't like me...or maybe she just doesn't like change...and that's something I can sympathize with. I've always had trouble with change...even though I do know that sometimes you just gotta have it. LOL
