Two new baby girls!!
There is nothing as sweet as new babies, and we woke up to two more baby goats this morning! We've been waiting for more for a while now, they are lots slower coming this year. Course the two goats that we figured would be next are still hanging on to theirs, and this one slipped in ahead of them. LOL Jane (the new mom) is the goat we got almost a year ago, who looked like she would give us some then...but it was just good eating. She stayed fat like that so we didn't know if she was even going to have babies or not (for sure).
Now Jane looks kinda skinny, after seeing her stick out a mile ever since we got her...I'm sure she will get back to doing that soon, once she recovers from birthing two cuties.
One of the girls has a black head, while the other is dark brown...but the brown headed one has some black mixed in the brown too. It will be interesting to see her grow and see how much the black shows up later on. I love it when there is a mix of colors on them. :)
I sure wish the other two goats would get busy and have theirs, since they should be any day now, (course we've been saying that for the last 2 or 3 weeks LOL) so we can see what they look like! I'm sure loving having girls this year, cause then we can hopefully get our herd back to growing instead of shrinking. We do have the two boys, but we are probably going to keep the friendly one, (depending on what Showgirl has) and a friend is thinking of trading one of their all brown girls for the other boy, so we won't have to take any that we have so far to the sale barn this year...if all goes well.
Have I mentioned how happy I am that it's not a all boy year this year?!!! *giggle*
I'm also looking forward to the kinder goats kidding, so we have goat milk for goat milk soap, not sure if it REALLY makes a difference, milk soap is milk soap, but "goat milk soap" is what you always hear about being wonderful...so naturally I want to make some of it to. *giggle*
Ok, gotta run, need to do a few things before lunch! Have a great weekend, and I'm sure I'll be showing off the next new babies too (if they EVER show up)...I love them to much not to. LOL
Kinda nifty how they both have a black spot on the same front foot....
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! They are absolutely adorable! Hope you get photos of your goat milk soap when you get it going for setting. I've always been curious about what it looks like before it's ready. LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new babies!!! They sure are cute!
