Whats for Dinner?

What's for Dinner?

It's B Day today!!! ...That is, its BUTCHER Day!!!

While we won't be having him for Dinner today, cause I have Venison Stew all ready to slow cook in the oven all afternoon, (since I won't want to have to make supper on TOP of trying to get this beast in my freezer) We WILL be having him for Dinner over the next few months!

Yippee!!! I'm so happy to finally be able to get him in my freezer...that will save us a little money every month, AND give us some yummy dinners! :-))

Galen's friend even decided to stay and help, and my parents will be over as soon as they get done with their chores...so least we don't have to do the butchering all by ourselves (Although we would if we had to)!

Unless it will make you to sad, you can look back to this post in my blog of when he was born. He was always meant to be eaten...which makes it easier for me...besides which, I get to enjoy the beef! Guess being a farm girl, I'm used to the cycle of life on a farm anyway...and when you KNOW that's what they are for from birth, it's easier.  It would be harder if we had to do one of our girls.

In other news...Kainsley got to come home yesterday finally!!!  What a blessing she is finally well enough to be home!

Ok, gotta run!  There is much work to be done today!  :-))

  1. So glad Kainsley was finally able to come home. I'm sure it will be better for both mother and child to be in the comfort of their own home. I've been praying for her and will continue to do so.
